Problems downloading eBooks
While this may involve a wide range of issues, the following are common error messages received by eBook customers during downloading process.
Error messages and solutions:
- The requested eBook title was not found. Contact us so we can investigate the problem.
- The requested eBook is currently not available for download or has not been released for general distribution. We offer some eBooks in advance of the release date. In cases like this you will see a pre-order button instead of a buy button. Pre-order eBooks will be available on the listed street date on the product page. Please try downloading again on that date.
- The requested eBook title cannot be downloaded at this time due to difficulty in communicating with the retail site. Please try again later. If you get this message, please contact us so we can investigate this issue.
- Server Timeout or Download Reset. This is most often caused by the problem with your Internet connection or browser. Please contact your Internet Service Provider (ISP) or check your browser to make sure it is working properly.
- License Error (Server communication problem: E_ADEPT_IO) This is a generic error caused by your firewall blocking the port and not allowing Adobe Digital Editions to download. If you receive this error message while trying open an eBook with Adobe Digital Editions, check your firewall settings to make sure the standard port 80 is open.
